AHMEDABAD: A team of Bopal police raided a bungalow in the area on Sunday evening and rescued two women who were held captive by a couple for flesh trade. Police have also caught a customer from the spot as search for the couple has been initiated.
According to police, they raided a flat in Safal Parisar in Bopal on the basis of a tip-off at 7 pm on Sunday and nabbed Sandeep Agarwal, a resident of Bodakdev.
Agarwal confessed that he had paid Rs 5,000 to Amit Soni, who worked as a middleman for call girls. Police searched the apartment and found Divya and Upasana (names changed). The duo told police that they were held at the flat against their wish.
"During questioning, we got to know that Divya is a small time actor in regional cinema in Uttar Pradesh whereas Upasana models for saris and dress materials in Rajasthan. Soni had promised them work in the state and had brought them to Ahmedabad where they were told that they would get work but for that they would have to make some compromises. We are yet to ascertain whether the duo was physically assaulted. They also mentioned that Soni and a woman whom he identified as his wife kept an eye on them," said a police official.
